From the Beginning

Tyson was born in South Korea in 1978  and was adopted by a loving family in 1979.  Raised in Southern California and graduated in 1997 from Moorpark High School.  It took him about four years to receive his Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts.   He changed his major about five times before dropping out of a four-year College.  He decided to try his luck in the work force, but found it difficult trying to find something he wanted to do.  In the past twenty-five years, he has built up a very large resume.  He has been a graphic designer, personal trainer, Notary Signing Agent, security officer, massage therapist, Reiki Master, occupational therapist aide, chiropractic assistant, YMCA teacher, front desk receptionist, Teppan chef, stock boy for a retail furniture store, stay-at-home dad, loan specialist for a mortgage bank company and wire operator for a stock brokerage firm.  He also processed medical claims for an insurance company, interned at a landscaping company, built concert stages during one summer, self-published a few books, graduated from the Police Academy, and received his Real Estate License for the State of California.

Tyson has learned that we do not need to have a college degree or be a rocket scientist, or speak a certain language to understand what's going on around the world today. We read about it the newspapers and magazines all the time. We see it on the Internet or watch it on TV every night. We hear about it on the radio or from our friends and family.  War, violence, disease, genocide, poverty, corporate scandals, police brutality, and corrupt politicians have all become part of our daily lives, and it is not just one ethnic group, religion, or social class that is associated with these negative misdeeds, but it is all of us who take part in and buy into all of the pain and suffering in the world. Tyson believes greed, selfishness and materialism prepare the way for the pain and suffering in the world. But he considers the absence of love in the world as the primary cause for all pain and suffering.

The world will change for the better when love is our way of life. When we choose to be loving all the time, we will finally release our own patterns of controlling others and uncover the truth that we are here to love and serve each other. We will begin to accept ourselves and everyone else for who we all are. We will begin to express our love to everyone and to everything. In so doing, we will begin to respect all living beings and live in harmony with nature. But this can only happen when loving-kindness is the way of life.

Driving fuel-efficient vehicles may help ward off global warming, but it will not stop road rage. Conserving water may prevent future droughts, but it will not eliminate the constant dumping of toxic waste into our oceans, lakes, and rivers. Recycling our waste may save the planet, but it will not restrain countries from cutting down all the forests. Becoming a vegetarian may prevent millions of animals from being slaughtered, but it will not thwart men from killing animals for sport. Nor will it end animal abuse. Affirmative action may offer equal opportunities to minorities, but it will not end all the prejudice and discrimination in the world. Banning gay marriages will not stop domestic violence. Outlawing smoking in public areas may block second hand smoke, but it will not prevent people from being impolite and disrespectful towards other human beings. Diet pills may offer a way to help alleviate the obesity epidemic in America, but it will not solve world hunger. Taking away abortion rights from women will not end global genocide. Spying on citizens will not defeat terrorism. Going to war with other countries will not end all the pain and planetary suffering. Spending billions of dollars every year on our military will not bring about world peace. Banning the right to bear arms will not stop people from killing each other. More important, silencing people's voices will not make all the problems in the world go away. Fortuantely for us, there is an answer. There is a solution that will solve all the problems and conflicts in the world. There is a way we can end pain and planetary suffering. The key is simply love.
